“Hunger, Compassion, and the Gospel” by Dr. Russell Moore

By Dr. Russell Moore

In the New Testament, James warns us that a faith without works is a dead faith. “If a brother or sister is poorly clothed or lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?” (James 2:15) Words, even spiritual sounding words, aren’t enough. The gospel compels us to practical acts of mercy.
